Soy veg manchurian balls in tomato gravy

After a hectic day from work headed home and wanted to prepare a quick dinner. To my surprise my mom was at home and she was in a hurry to leave. So decided to prepare some snack for her. Also i was in no mood to make another dish for dinner so made these soy flakes n mixed veggies manchurian  balls and served with tomato sauce for my mom and made a simple tomato gravy for dinner for me n my hubby.

For Manchurian balls :
1 cup – Soya flakes
1 cup – Cabbage, grated
1 cup – Carrot, grated
1 tsp – Green chilli paste
1/2 tsp – Ginger finely chopped
2 Tbsp – Maida
2 Tbsp – Corn flour
¼ tsp – Black Pepper
1 tsp – Salt
Oil for frying
For the gravy :
1” Ginger – chopped,
Garlic 5 cloves – finely chopped
1 – Onion, paste
1 – Tomato
2 – Green chillies, slit
½ cup – Tomato Puree
1 tsp – Red chilli powder
1 cup water
Salt
Method:
Cook soya flakes in hot boiling water with some salt and red chilli powder. Once done drain and squeeze the excess water.

Mix soya flakes, cabbage, carrot, chilli paste, salt, corn flour, maida, ginger and pepper together in a bowl.
Make small balls out of this mixture and deep fry in hot oil till golden brown.
For the gravy heat oil in a pan and add ginger, garlic and the pureed onion and green chillies, saute for a minute and add chopped tomatoes and saute.

Add red chilli powder and salt and add tomato puree and water.

Once it starts boiling add the manchurian balls and it’s done.
Serve hot with fried rice / roti/ pulka!!!!
