Sago Oats Kheer n Green Peas Masala vadai

Made kheer n vada for Varalakshmi pooja though my MIL’s family do not follow tradition of doing kalasa pooja on this day but we chant “Sri Lalita Sahasranama”  and offered to the goddess for neivedhyam. Both these dish are from  Priyas blog. She makes such easy n tasty dishes like the blog name says.
This kheer was absolutely loved by my SH n my mom too loved it so much.
Sago Oats Kheer
¼ cup – Sago
¼ cup – Rolled Oats
1 cup – Milk
¼ cup – Sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp – Ghee
¼ tsp – Cardamom powder
Few fried cashew nuts+almonds+pista
Soak the sago in water the night before. Cook the sago with enough water until they turn transparent, drain and keep aside.
Boil the milk add condensed milk now add sago and rolled oats, cook in simmer until the kheer get slightly thicken which took approx 30 mins.
Now fry the nuts in ghee and add to the ghee also add cardamom powder boil for another 1 min and switch off the stove.
Dry Green Peas Masala Vadai
Loved the greenish color of the vadais, these masala vadais tastes awesome with or without onion. Replacing chana dhal for masala vada is a good n healthy option
1 cup – Dry Greenpeas (soaked overnite)
1 no – Onion (chopped, for neivedhyam did not use)
2 nos – Green chillies (chopped)
1 tbsp – Ginger (chopped)
3 nos – Curry leaves
Oil for deep frying

Drain the water completely and grind the soaked dry green peas to coarse paste

Add onions, green chillies, ginger, torn curry leaves, salt and mix everything well.
Heat the oil for deep frying, flatten them and drop gently in hot oil and fry them until they turn golden brown and crispy, drain the excess oil with paper towel.

Serve hot!!!

    மசால் வடை+பாயாசம் ம்ம்ம்ம் சூப்பர்ர்ர்….எப்போழுதும் பாயாசம் செய்தாலும் கொஞ்சமா வடை சுட்டு விடுவேன்..வடையுடம் பாயாசம் சேர்த்து சாப்பிட ரொம்ப பிடிக்கும்…

    Vadai and kheer looks delicious! Vadai made out of unidentifiable ingredient…love this channa dhal replacement…nice!!
