Khatta Meeta sundal n Flax powder sundal n Wheat Banana Appam – Navarathri Spcl

Happy Navarathri to all dear friends!!! Navaratri is always a special festival decorating golu, inviting friends and relations for golu, visiting relatives and friends home, preparing different variety sundals and neivedhyams on each day. Woo am so so busy with my Navarathri golu shopping n its still not over!!! I missed many wonderful blogger friends recipes.. no no i will sure make it on track!!!

Ingredients for flax powder Sundal:
Brown Chana – 1 cup
Flax seed powder – 2 tbsp
Chilli flakes – 1 tsp
Oil – ½ tsp
Cumin Seeds – 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Curry Leaves n Coriander
Method:
Soak chana overnight, wash again add enough water add salt pressure cook till it’s soft. Drain the water. Heat a pan add oil add in the cumin seeds once it crackles add chillies flakes , flax powder , curry leaves, salt n saute them till nice aroma comes add cooked chana and then switch off the stove. Now add chopped coriander and do the neivedhyam.

Ingredients for Wheat Banana Appam:
Wheat flour – 1/2 cup
Raw rice flour – 1/2 cup
Jaggery(grated) – 1 cup
Ripe banana’s – 4 (seeds to be removed)
Cardamom powder – 1/4 tsp
Ghee for greasing the puff pan
Method:
Soak grated jaggery in 1 cup water for 1/2 hr. In a deep bowl add both the flours and cardamom powder mix well.
In a mixer add bananas and jaggery water whip it just for 20 secs and add this to the flour mix. Mix everything no lumps should be there. 
Heat the puff pan on a low heat grease with ghee fill the batter in each holes and close the lid and let it cook for 3 – 4 mins.
Turn each appam upside down and let it cook for another 1 min and now its ready for neivedhyam!!! 
Ingredients for Khatta Meeta Sundal:
White Eyed Peas – 1 cup
Jaggery gratings – 1 tbsp
Lemon Juice – 2 tbsp
Green Chillies – 4
Coconut gratings – 2 tbsp
Oil – ½ tsp
Mustard Seeds – 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Curry Leaves, Coriander

Method:
Soak peas overnight, wash again add enough water add salt pressure cook till it’s soft. Drain the water. Heat a pan add oil once hot add in the mustard seeds once it crackles add curry leaves, chillies, coconut, jaggery saute them till nice aroma comes add salt and cooked peas and then switch off the stove. Now add lemon juice chopped coriander and do the neivedhyam.

    Happy NAvarathri wishes, both katta meeta and flax seeds sundals looks absolutely nutritious and delicious…appam makes me hungry..
