Wheat Naan (without yeast) and Goan Xacuti Gobi Masala

Always wanted to try naan at home and landed with the recipe from Rak’s Kitchen and more importantly it is without yeast. Wanted to use off the Xacuti masala which my SH got from goa recipe followed as per instrc on pack.

Ingredients:

Wheat Flour – 2 cups
Yogurt – 1/2 cup
Milk – 1/2 cup
Sugar – 1/2 tsp
Salt – 1 tsp
Baking powder -3/4 tsp
Method:
Sieve wheat flour with baking powder for 2 – 3 times. Pour milk, curd, salt, sugar and mix well.
Keep aside covered for 2-3 hours. Knead the dough and roll into even sized balls.
Roll them into naan shape and apply water on top of the naan and place it on the tawa so that the wet side sticks to the pan.

Cook covered in medium flame and after a minute if u open u could see it has puffed up. Now cook the other side on direct flame like doing it for roti. And they are ready to be served.

Goan Xacuti Gobi Masala Ingredients:
Cauliflower – 2 cups
Onion – 2 nos (thinly sliced)
Coconut gratings – 1/4 cup
Ginger – 1 tsp
Garlic – 1 tbsp
Tamarind paste – 1/2 tsp
Xacuti masala – 3 tbsp
Red chilli powder – 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Salt as reqd
Oil
Method:
In a pan add ¼ tsp oil and fry the onions until it turns brown in color.
Grind half of the fried onions, ginger, garlic, coconut, tamarind with tbsp of water to a smooth paste.
In the pan with left out onions add cauliflower and sauté it well.  Add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and xacuti masala.

Stir them well and then add the ground paste sauté well add some water and close the lid and cook on medium fire for 7 min.

Its ready to be served with hot Naan.
