DHINGRI MUTTER RECIPE

Dhingri Muttar Recipe is a delicious combination of mushrooms and fresh green peas. This flavorful curry / gravy recipe tastes great with roti / phulkas. This is my version of creamy Dhingri mutter recipe which uses melon seeds and few cashews for the creamy gravy consistency. Almonds can be replaced with cashews and melon seeds too. 

Mushroom is also known as Khumbh / Dhingri. There are numerous ways in which this dhingri muttur can be made yogurt can be replaced with cream too. The taste varies with each and every variation. 

What you need:
2 cups – Mushrooms, chopped
1 cup – Frozen green peas
1 no – Onions, finely chopped
2 nos  – Tomatoes, chopped
1 tsp – Ginger garlic paste
2 tbsp – Yogurt (whisked well)
1 tsp – Red chilli powder
1/2 tsp – Coriander powder
1/4 tsp – Garam masala
Salt as reqd
1 tbsp – Oil
Coriander leaves


Grind with 2 tbsp water to smooth paste:
5 nos – Cashew nuts
2 tbsp – Un salted Melon seeds


How to make:
Heat oil in a pan add cumin seeds 1 tsp once it crackles add onions saute well add ginger garlic paste saute well now add tomatoes and cook till it softens. 

Add mushrooms, peas, chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala and sauté for2 minutes not more than this, other wise mushrooms will start to sweat.

Add the paste half cup water and bring to gentle boil. Lower the heat add yogurt simmer for a minute and switch off the heat. 

Serve with phulka/ roti / pulao and a plate of salad.
